About the work

A still as yet inchoate plan for a sculptural installation in the future.

About the artist:

Born 1979 Dublin, Aleana Egan lives and works in Dublin. Graduated from BA Hons. Painting, The Glasgow School of Art (2003).

“Aleana Egan creates abstract sculptures that are assembled in multi-layered constellations. Materials such as metal, wood, pigment, and fabric refer to their own properties, while also remaining indeterminate. In this ambiguity, the objects evoke immaterial moments—ideas, thoughts, feelings, moods, energies, and relationships both towards each other as well as interpersonal. Manifested in form, the internal is turned outwards. Translated into sculptural gestures, latent allusions are made visible, and the processual shifts into focus” – Melissa Canbaz, 2021

Egan’s works are held in public and public collections including The Irish Museum of Modern Art, The Dallas Museum of Art, Landesmusuem Münster and Frac des Pays de la Loire.

Selected solo exhibitions include Void, Derry (2022); Künstlerhaus Bremen (2021); New People, Konrad Fischer Gallery, Duesseldorf (2020); Shadowy Forms, NICC Vitrine, Brussels (2020); and Spitze, Farbvision, Berlin (2019). Selected group exhibitions include Yuugen, CCA Andratx (2021); The Classical Museum, University College, Dublin (2020); from narrow provinces, Cample Line, Thornhill (2019); staring forms, Temple Bar Gallery + Studios, Dublin (2019); and Aleana Egan/Pearl Blauvelt, Mary Mary, Glasgow (2018).

This is called Popcorn Bidding or Bidder Extension and gives all bidders an equal chance of winning.

£250 increments for bids of £2,000 – £5,000

£500 increments for bids of £5,000 plus

Maximum bids

You are more likely to be the winning bidder if at the outset you place a maximum bid i.e. the maximum amount you are willing to pay for the work. Your maximum bid is not visible to other bidders. If another bidder exceeds your maximum bid you will receive an automatic notification. If you have placed a maximum bid the auction site will automatically place bids on your behalf, but only as much is necessary to make sure that you remain the highest bidder, until it reaches your maximum bid. These automatic bids are placed in increments, as shown above.
