About the work
Like a code, the word is not the thing it represents but merely an approximation of it. Despite a world of labels, each time a translation takes place something different occurs.
About the artist:
Born 1968 UK, David Osbaldeston lives and works in Scotland & Manchester. Graduated from MA Fine Art, Manchester (2002); and Rijksakedemie, Amsterdam (2010).
I am interested in an art that transforms materials through systems or processes in a way that questions my association to fixed forms and identities. The ongoing concern is to reconcile the world as it presents itself with the world that is conveyed through language.
