About the artist:
Born 1937 Portsmouth, Derek Boshier lives and works in Los Angeles. Graduated from the Royal College of Art.
Emerging originally from the British Pop Art movement while he was a student at the Royal College of Art in London, Boshier worked amongst peers there such as David Hockney, RB Kitaj, Allen Jones and Pauline Boty. The artworks from this time began his whole career and his engagement with popular culture and has continued ever since. He has made works for music groups including David Bowie, The Clash, and others. He has worked in various media, including painting, drawing, film, books, sculpture, printmaking, and graphics.
His works are held in public and private collections including the Tate Gallery, London, and the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
