About the work

For Peoples (series 1) (2024), twelve national leaders, embroiled in continuing wars and atrocities, are depicted. Their small-scale rendered visages surround a hand-drawn QR code that links to an animation which explores all the drawings and their making. This composite work shifts between shades of light and dark, oscillating between figuration and abstraction. Behind these faces lie millions of lives, many devastated or destroyed.

This is called Popcorn Bidding or Bidder Extension and gives all bidders an equal chance of winning.

Maximum bids

You are more likely to be the winning bidder if at the outset you place a maximum bid i.e. the maximum amount you are willing to pay for the work. Your maximum bid is not visible to other bidders. If another bidder exceeds your maximum bid you will receive an automatic notification. If you have placed a maximum bid the auction site will automatically place bids on your behalf, but only as much is necessary to make sure that you remain the highest bidder, until it reaches your maximum bid. These automatic bids are placed in increments, as shown above.
