About the artist:
Born 1959, Simon English lives and works in London.
English emerged on the London Art scene in 1994 with an exhibition of paintings at the Saatchi Gallery as part of Young British Art III. He has become best known for his large and small-scale works on paper, often described as painted drawings and referred to as “diaries of the subconscious.”
His works are held in private and public collections including the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Copenhagen; Falckenberg Collection, Hamburg; Arts Council of Great Britain; and Saatchi Collection, London.
